Trigger points are related to tired muscles which occur because they have reduced in nerve supply. This in turn causes the fibers of the muscle to tighten locally causing trigger points.

You can massage them but they will return. You need to address the nerve supply to the muscles, correct joint and pelvic imbalances and stretch tight muscles to have a permanent cure.
