Hearing loss in childhood is very important and significant, and many parents do not realize how important it is to have their children’s hearing tested. Because a hearing loss in childhood can come from many different causes, it is important to find out as early as possible both whether the child has a hearing loss and what the hearing loss is coming from. Some Children Are Born With a Hearing Loss

Hearing loss in a child can sometimes occur from birth. Illnesses and Accidents Can Also Cause Hearing Loss in a Child

Hearing loss in a child can also come from accidents where the child sustains a head injury or other problematic injury that damaged either the ear, the part of the brain connected with hearing, or the nerves that operate the hearing in the child. While some parents may feel a sense of disappointment that their child is not perfect, most will soon come to realize that no one is perfect. All individuals have their problems in life that must be overcome. This is very significant for the parents to realize and also highly important to teach to the child and any siblings that he or she might have.
