The first golf course in Cabo San Lucas was built in 1990 at Palmilla, and after that, several others follow until Cabo has become home to six championship golf courses.
Cabo’s first golf course built in Palmilla resort is not just popular for being the first championship golf course in Los Cabos. It was also designed by a world-class golfer Jack Niclaus after he was being commissioned by another golf enthusiast and developer, Don Koll.
Having their first golf course in the area gave Los Cabos an extraordinary success that leads to the making of many other golf courses. Jack Niclaus also had the chance to design a couple of golf courses more for Los Cabos after the first one in Palmilla.
The other famous golf courses aside from the one in Palmilla are the Golf at the The Raven designed by Roy Dye which has 18 holes, the Golf Cabo del Sol Desert Course designed by Tom Weiskopf which is rated as the best in Los Cabos and top 10 of the best in the world according to Golf Digest, the Cabo Real Golf Club which has 18 holes and designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the El Dorado and Querencia Golf Courses which was designed by Jack Niclaus and Tom Facio respectively.
There is also the Golf at the Mayan Country Club which has 9 holes, the Golf Cabo del Sol Ocean Course which is again designed by Jack Niclaus and also ranked as one of the top 10 best courses in the world by the Golf Digest with its 5th and 17th holes ranked by the Golf Magazine as among “The 500 Best Holes in the World.”
Because these golf courses in Cabo are world class and offer the best when it comes to golfing, they may cost a little expensive. Not a problem though. In these expertly designed golf courses, you will be getting your money’s worth.
Those with less experience will also enjoy a rewarding day’s battle on the green. Truly, Los Cabos is the ultimate golf destination. Currently about a dozen more golf courses are being constructed in the area and golfers are excitedly awaiting them.
