Why is it all the best golf courses tend to be in rainy areas If youre as much of a golf nut as I am, youve certainly slogged your way to many a soggy green. Fortunately, there are quite a few products to help make your wet game more enjoyable and less, well, wet!

The best gear will keep you dry and comfortable, without hindering your swing. Unfortunately, the best will cost you your driving arm if youre not careful! Lucky for you Golf Guru Guy has done a lot of the legwork for you, and found several good deals. Check out the Golf Rain Gear link to see whats what!

GGG recommends that you get a rain suit made or Gore-tex, which is the best material to have, just a little pricey A rain suit could run several hundred dollars, but we have seen deals as low as $129 or so And make sure you get one of those bucket hats. I know they look horrible, but if you want to keep the rain out of your eyes (especially if you wear glasses); they are the best hats to be wearing.

The Bag: You want a golf bag that keeps everything dry, from your clubs to that iPod you’d rather not have in your pants while you’re trying to fetch a ball out of a water trap. It’s an essential part of the wet-yip’s arsenal. After all, there’s nothing worse than letting your phone get rained on. Except maybe running it through the wash. Not that I have experience with that, of course…

Fancy Globes for Fancy Men! Those leather gloves of yours may be fine dandy when its dry, Mr. Fancy Pant, but in the rain they become a liability. Once soaked, your grip will be ruined. To prevent you from sending your sand wedge out of the trap with the ball (Just wanted to make sure the ball didnt get any ideas! Right), a pair of rain gloves will go a long way. They grip better the more waterlogged they are, so youll be praying for a monsoon!

Wet Shoes for Dry Feet: Golf shoes that are waterproof are priceless (Though we still managed to find a few good deals for you), as they keep your feet dry and they’re usually guaranteed, to boot! So, even if they do get wet, you’re covered. Just keep the receipt! As your Vietnam veteran golf buddies will tell you, “Keep your feet dry.” Be sure to invest in more than one pair to make sure the shoes have time to dry between rounds, and bring extra socks! Lieutenant Dan will tell you that there’s no such thing as too many socks!

The Umbrella: Cover from Above! A good golf umbrella goes a long way to make rain less distracting to a would-be wet-vet. And the true wet vets will tell you to not be stingy here! Get an umbrella with vents. This will keep it from inverting when you need it most.

While not a complete list, these are the must-haves for any golfer getting his round rained on. Dont go crazy (Unless you like dressing your tees in little ponchos, that is), but definitely look into some of the higher end stuff if you can afford it. If you dont mind braving the elements in order to enjoy a round, do yourself a favor: get some decent golf rain gear. Of course, if you want to be a literal wet-yip, who am I to argue?

If you frequent courses in the Northeast or Southeast, you’ve no doubt experienced rainy days. Lots of rainy days. And if you’re like me, you don’t let that get you down!

Rain Gear Essentials include your bag, hat, gloves and umbrella. That’s all most players would probably think they need when braving the rains. A good jacket and hat are essential (And can be quite pricey, though we’ve found some great jackets for less than $150), but let the veterans of the golf rounds in monsoon season suggest a few more pieces of equipment to gird yourself with.

Rain-proof Bags: A bag that keeps your clubs dry, but what is even better is a bag that keeps everything dry, from your wallet to your blackberry, to the mini-bar and TV Al Czervik from Caddy Shack sported. Invest in a bag with water-proof pockets. After all, no one likes rain in their mint julep mix

Gloves: The Wetter the Better! Son, if you can’t keep a grip on your club you’re next to useless in the war against the ball! Rather than have a pair of gloves that only worsen as the weather does, invest in a pair of rain gloves. Your grip will stay sure no matter how wet it gets!

Umbrella: The quality construction of the Golf Club Umbrella ensures it will be around for many a rainy round. A good golf umbrella is a no brainer for the hardened golfer who braves the rain and the wind. Be sure to buy a proper golf umbrella as they have “wind flaps” that stop the umbrella from collapsing or exploding outwards.

Well, you can go nuts, but these are the essentials you need to keep that great round going, no matter what Mother Nature has in store for your round Decent golf rain gear is essential if like me, youre mad for golf and play all year round.
