In the year ten sixty six, William the Conqueror had a motte and castle built here. People are delighted to learn that they may roam freely about the grounds, and even inside the castle. The smell of wood fires, the roaming animals, and visits to the houses within the walls of this village are sure to take people to a place of long ago. As if all of this is not enough, it is the first part in a three for one bargain.
At the same location, and included in the admission price is the ‘House on the hill toy museum’. This museum is a spectacular dedication to toys that many of us owned years ago. It is hard to imagine over eighty thousand toys all in one location, but that is what will be found here. There are countless dolls, trucks, a Beatles tribute, and even Princess Diana’s bicycle. There is also an amazing exhibit of replications of the crown jewels. Other royal memorabilia will be found here. This is definitely a one of a kind, and a must see’
The pathway to the toy museum is the third attraction. Here individuals young and old will be surprised by the sight and sounds of the Dinosaur encounter. Children should probably be told what to expect, so as to not frighten them. There is also the opportunity to learn a bit about what paleontologists do, while brushing sand off of hidden fossils.
This combination attraction is sure to be one where people want to spend the entire day. This is a great opportunity to bring along a picnic lunch to enjoy in the park, or visit one of the fantastic local restaurants for a bite to eat.
