For those who have a corporate occasion under consideration you probably realize that you will need a city targeted at supplying you with the ideal options to give your attendees a good time. The charm of Las Vegas is that it is one city where couples as well as families can have a great time together. This city has a lot to offer you these days, so let’s briefly take a glance at just what the glittering jewel of the American desert can offer.

While it has been and still is essentially recognized for the gaming that you can do here openly, Vegas is the largest city in the state of Nevada and also in the top 30 largest for the United States overall. The Vegas metro area has just under 2 million people and a substantial number of them are engaged in the hospitality business. Many people know of the famous Strip with its flashing illuminated cowboy that glows at night to welcome guests, but there is a lot more to do here, as well. Actually, you will find a growing art scene in Las Vegas that comes out to play during First Fridays when artists present their work for sale and musicians come out to entertain. Galleries, too, show off what they also have to offer each Thursday, also.

For those who want their entertainment to be a tad lower key or more natural, the Las Vegas Zoo provides more than 150 unique types of flora and fauna to show off from around the globe. You will discover quite a few parks here, for example the Las Vegas Springs Preserve that is a stunning spot to experience the natural beauty of the area. Effectively engineered public transit can certainly help you get virtually anywhere you could possibly wish to go because this is, all things considered, a city that serves visitors in a really big way. You have buses and complimentary shuttles waiting to take you to all points of the city, specifically if you might wish to visit a few of the famous casinos that the city offers.

For almost any convention or other sort of visit, you will certainly have a great deal to entertain guests with in Las Vegas. This is a city where any kind of entertainment you may envision is easily available. From the Bluegreen corporation resort options to some of the most expensive hotels on the planet, this really is one city that is most certainly a miracle in and of itself, a genuine sign of our modern age. Oh, in case you happen to wish to get married, this is actually the city where you can have a mock Elvis preside over the quickest wedding ceremony you can ever hope to have.

As we’ve mentioned, Las Vegas delivers a great deal for those who are looking for an amazing visit. It accommodates events and large groups, but people of all ages and from all walks of life love this classic American city of everything larger, louder, swifter and much more fun.

Betting preseason NFL games never fails to elicit an irreconcilable difference of opinion among sports betting enthusiasts. Some consider it a very poor wagering opportunity, while others maintain that there’s no better moneymaking opportunity in sports than pro football’s preseason. The truth is probably somewhere between the two extremes–NFL preseason betting must be approached with caution and discipline, but offers the potential to make a tidy profit before the regular season kicks off.

The opponent of preseason wagering would suggest that its a bad wagering opportunity by its very nature alone–simply stated, the games don’t count meaning that the motivation and focus of individual teams is always in question. It’s hard enough to identify teams that are in a desirable ’spot’ during the regular season, the often conflicting agendas of personnel evaluation, playbook testing, and injury prevention found in the preseason makes it impossible. All told, this uncertainty makes it very undesirable to get financially involved with preseason NFL games.

But like the old saying goes “every dark cloud has a silver lining”. And the divergent agendas at play in preseason football can be seen as precisely why it is a good wagering opportunity. For example, say the Superbowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers are set to play an ‘also ran’ team like the Houston Texans. By regular season standards, the Steelers would almost certainly be favored. In the preseason, however, they’ll often have a different agenda for the individual game. A “better” team has more concern about protecting key players. and usually has fewer personnel decisions to deal with. They don’t need to worry about implementing coaching changes, or creating ‘team chemistry’. As a result, ‘better’ teams frequently approach preseason games as a mere annoyance.

On the other hand, consider the ‘lesser’ team in a preseason matchup. They often have a number of key starting positions they need to fill, along with backup positions up for grabs. They may have new coaching staffs that players want to impress, new offensive or defensive schemes to implement. Most significantly, ‘lesser’ teams often view the preseason as an opportunity to build team chemistry or create a winning attitude. A team trying to rebuild can benefit from winning *any* games, regardless of whether or not they count in the standings. For a league doormat, a win over an elite level opponent can serve as a rare highlight of a losing season.

Even teams that put a low priority on preseason games don’t want to lose them all. For this reason, a longterm winning situation has been to bet on teams that lose their first two preseason games outright. Over the past twenty years, 0-2 teams in this spot have produced a winning percentage right around 60%.

There may be no greater determining factor of a team’s preseason success than the philosophy of their head coach. Some coaches just don’t like to lose *any* game, and usually these hyper-competitive teams are good preseason bets. Bill Parcells, for example, was legendary for his serious approach to preseason games. The coaches that he mentored like the NY Giants’ Tom Coughlin have to some extent carried on this legacy. While the “good” preseason coaches are often reflected in the pointspreads assigned to their team, a motivated team is almost always worth a look.

The Internet has become a very valuable weapon in the NFL preseason handicapper’s arsenal. Simply following the local media reports of NFL teams can often produce a wealth of ‘mission critical’ betting information. The combination of anxious beat writers, little in the way of ‘real’ news, and a less guarded approach by coaches to games that ‘don’t count’ can often reveal game strategies, playing time for key personnel, or even a team’s specific agenda for a particular game. Sometime coaches will come right out and say that evaluating a certain position, or working on a specific offensive scheme is their top priority for a game. It’s a great way to find not only good teams to bet on, but strong situations to go against teams that are focused on something other than outscoring their opponent.

In conclusion, there are certainly strong opportunities for profit in NFL preseason wagering but its essential to understand that it cannot be approached in the same manner as the regular season. And, as always, its important to remember that there will be more strong opportunities down the road and that discipline and rigor in handicapping is just as crucial in the preseason NFL as it is at any other time of the year.

The Kentucky Derby takes place every year on the first Saturday in May, and its a race that many horse racing novices like to follow. Along with the Breeders’ Cup and the other ‘Triple Crown’ races, the Derby attracts the most mainstream attention. Understanding the intricacies of horse racing is a very involved study.

While understanding and predicting horse races is a very complex discipline, here are some basics that can help the amateur understand the Kentucky Derby. Back during the seventies, it was a race dominated by the favorite including three great Triple Crown winners–Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed–and a great horse that came close, Spectacular Bid. Since Spectacular Bid won the Derby in 1979, however, you can count the favorites who’ve won the race on one hand with fingers left over. If I was a serious horseplayer, I might not advise you to do this but since I’m just worried about predicting the outcome of this one race Im going to suggest that you forget about the favorite altogether. Not only will you not be flying in the face of recent history, but also it allows you to concentrate on the horses offering greater value.

There are a variety of theories behind the poor performance of favorites in the Kentucky Derby of late. One is that the hype surrounding the race has attracted so many mainstream fans who are prone to back the horse with the most media hype. Unfortunately, the most hyped horse is seldom the best horse.

Post position is also something that the horse racing neophyte should pay attention to. Obviously post position number 1 is an advantage relative to the outer ones, but it hasnt been a strong edge over the other inside positions. Twelve Derby winners have had the #1 position going into the race (the most of any position) but positions #4 and #5 have had ten winners each. In terms of percentages, positions #1 through #5 have yielded 49 winners (or just under 40%). On the other hand, the outermost positions (#11 through #20) have had just 16 winners (or just under 13%). It is important to note that theres not always that many horses in the race, which would obviously result in few higher posts winning. Still, concentrating on horses with favorable post positions is another way to pare down a field that you know little about.

A horse’s lineage and breeding is also an important factor in the race. While this may be the most complex and demanding area of horse racing, there is a simple rule of thumb that can help a novice for this race. Most high level race horses are born in Kentucky. Well over 80% of Derby winners have also been born in the Bluegrass State. So just eliminate all horses that weren’t born in Kentucky. Then consider a horse’s gender and eliminate any horse that isn’t an intact male (geldings and fillies). Over 90% of all Derby winners have been intact males, though a gelding did win the race in 2003 (Funny Cide). For the horse racing novice, however, this is another good way to pare down the field.

Dosage index numbers have also taken on a great deal of significance in recent years. What are dosage numbers you ask? I have no clue, beyond the fact that theyre a complex mathematical measurement that reflects the quality of the horses family tree, as well as his performance as a two-year-old. The conventional wisdom is that horses with a dosage index over 4.00 are not supposed to be competitive at the long 1 mile distance. This isnt always the case, of course, but for the dilettante its a good factor to consider. Since 1984 (when dosage systems first came into vogue), the winners of nine Derby races were dosage system selections.

These are just a few steps that will serve you well if you dont know much about horses. Again, if you want to take a more serious approach to understanding horse racing you should look into the many books dedicated to the subject. For a recreational horse race enthusiast, however, these basic rules are helpful in trying to predict the Derby winner.

When you go to Las Vegas, one of the things you will see everywhere are the shows. Every hotel has a show and some of them are spectacular with big name stars. It is something that you have to see to believe and these expensive shows are one of Las Vegass calling cards.

There are a lot of different choices of shows as you would expect and a wide variety of prices as well. The big name entertainers will cost you the most to see while the lesser-known acts are more reasonable. You have everything to choose from including magicians, hypnotists, singers, comedians and much more.

There are also production shows that you can catch while taking a break from your gambling spree. The percussion-driven Blue Man Group has become prominent figures on the strip. Tourists leave their show exhilarated and ready for another round of game at the casino table. Couples can spend romantic evenings enjoying exquisite dinner while being serenaded by tender ballads. Or you can go to one of the headliner shows, if you want to experience good music in an elegant setting.

The ultimate in Las Vegas entertainment is the Cirque du Soleil. Its an experience of a lifetime that will leave you in awe of the performers ability to take you into their world and temporarily be part of it. Walking into the theatre alone is an experience you will never forget. If you want light entertainment, there are several comedy shows that can tickle your fancy. You can choose from a number of veteran stand-up comics or you can go to several clubs that host improvisation comedy.

If you want something a little lighter, there are many comedy shows available for you to go to as well. Famous comedians routinely go to Las Vegas to sharpen their acts and to entertain and there are some acts that have made a career of performing there. After watching a night of the dramatic with Cirque du Soleil, it is nice to go to a different kind of show of comedy or a variety show.

Tourists flock to Las Vegas with money to burn and one of the ways they can do that is by going to the shows. Nowhere else in the world can you find so many spectacular shows that are truly big productions. Of course they come with a high price tag that can only be found in Vegas as well!

Sports betting futures wagers can be an entertaining and profitable investment, but there are a number of pitfalls. These are some things to avoid:

Search for the best price: A common mistake is to assume that the price on a specific futures wager position will be the same at every sportsbook. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, you’ll often see a greater degree of difference between futures prices from book to book than any other form of bet. This is because that books aren’t as worried about what price other outfits are offering as they are about keeping their own financial position balanced.

In a competitive field, don’t obsess with picking the winner: This may sound like a strange concept, but once you understand the theory behind it it makes perfect sense. In a large field–the NCAA basketball tournament is a perfect example–the top few favorites are invariably priced at odds that are less than the ‘true odds’ of them winning. On the other hand, there are always teams that fly ‘under the radar’ available at higher prices that present a betting overlay.

In mathematical terms, we’re simply not being offered odds on a favorite that offer a good value in comparison with the ‘true odds’ of the event occurring. Let’s say we bet Duke at +200 to win the NCAA tournament. If we could magically play the NCAA tournament over 100 times, would Duke come out on top more than 33 times? If not, they’re a poor value at the price. At a higher price, I might be interested but at +200 the value is simply not there.

Note that the more competitive the market, the more difficult it is to find good value on a favorite. In a smaller field, or in a field with one dominant competitor it can be easier. For example, say the UFC were to have a tournament involving heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and three male figure skaters. Even if Lesnar was slightly injured, or not at the top of his game he’d essentially have a 100% chance of beating the smaller, effeminate men who are untrained to fight. If a book installed Lesnar as a -1000 favorite in this spot, it could still be considered a good value. It’s never easy to risk a lot to win a little, but from strictly a mathematical standpoint it makes sense.

Don’t go for the big killing: Sports wagering is not a good arena in which to make a ‘big killing’. It may happen from time to time, but it is extremely rare. A perennial doormat can come out of nowhere to win a championship at a big price, but the fact that it happens from time to time doesn’t make it a good value. If you’re a recreational player and want to throw a few dollars at a big long shot, no real harm. If you aspire to any degree of seriousness as a sports better, however, you need to maintain your discipline and commitment to value at all times. If you want to hit a big jackpot play the lottery or the slot machines, but don’t try to do it in a sports betting paradigm.

Wagering value is just as important at the bottom of the barrel as it is at the top. Just because you’re getting a huge potential payback on a big dog doesn’t make it a good value. Make sure that the payback you’re getting presents an overlay situation–even on a huge underdog.

Don’t waste your money on ridiculous prop bets: Occasionally sports books offer ridiculous bets to get press or to be funny. For example, a book once offered odds on Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher and Bruce Willis all hopping into bed together and releasing a video tape of the proceedings. You’d no doubt get a huge payback were this to happen, but the ‘true odds’ of such an event transpiring far exceeded even a big potential payback.

While searching for discount airfares and that too for Las Vegas, you will find several different options to search from. Well, it is not at all helpful if your search comes up with a lot of options thereby making it impossible for you to visit each option. Rather, it makes sense to start your search on the sites that you know of or at least you have heard of. When you try searching by entering keywords like discount airfare: Las Vegas, you will definitely have thousands of sites displayed in the search engine.

If we are familiar with any of these sites which offer travel deals, we will realize that most of them have the best deals during the week and there would be additional sites that might also offer extra services as well. It is a common fact now that if we go for package kind of deals, then we are assured of saving a few dollars. Generally, airfare – hotel – rental car kind of packages are the best way to get a cheaper deal. There are sites that also offer additional discounts if we are traveling as a couple.

It generally makes sense to plan for a place like Las Vegas well in advance. That ways we can chose to go during the weekdays like – Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday as there are additional discounts due to less traffic. We may also come across sites with special discounts for a particular weekday. A good place to visit is lastminutetraveldeals.com which offers great options if we have made a late plan of going to Las Vegas without adequate prior planning.

The best thing to do, if you have time, is to search for these kinds of options a few months in advance. That ways, it always helps because the closer you get to the traveling date, the costlier it gets. Due to lesser availability of rooms and flight seats, they tend to charge higher than the rates that are generally offered as a part of a good deal.

There are a lot of discounted airfares that are available online on a variety of websites. However, it also makes sense to give a shot to the local newspapers as well. The reason for this is that some travel agencies and travel companies might choose to offer great deals to Las Vegas for as low as $169 per person also, particularly trying to target their newspaper readers. And this too, includes hotel and airfare.

Once we are ready with a great deal of discount airfare to Las Vegas or with a package deal, the next step is to invest some money in travel insurance. This insurance can help us if we end up having certain trouble just before the flight and so it ensures that we don’t lose any money. Additionally, we might also want to know of any additional hidden costs or extra charges that the website might have levied without our knowledge. These hidden fees can be in terms of taxes, service charges, etc.

We have the lowest Las Vegas Hotel Rates on the internet guaranteed, if you find a lower rate we will match it.

If you are looking to take a vacation and want to get away, then you may want to look into taking a cruise aboard of a major cruise ship. Some of the big cruise lines that are out there are Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, Princess along with many others.

I am not going to be promoting specific cruise lines in this article; I will just be going over some of the things that you can expect when you are on board a cruise ship that holds 1,000 people or more.

If you like to travel then a cruise ship is the way to go. There are cruises that will stop at just about any big port that there is, so if you want to travel to a certain country there is more than likely a cruise ship that will go there.

If you like to tan or like to swim, you can enjoy sparkling swimming pools that are usually located on the sun deck. For those that want to relieve muscle tension there are massages available, along with hot tubs and saunas on most cruises.

There are plenty of opportunities to stay in shape when on a cruise also, of you do not know where to start then many of them offer personal trainers. If you need a rest from the kids then you are in luck as many cruises have day care centers for all ages.

If you are feeling lucky then you can drop by the casino and maybe make enough money to pay for your entire vacation, or lose it all. Although most cruises have casinos that are open 24 hours, there are some that do not, such as the Disney Cruise Lines so make sure you find out in advance if you are looking to gamble.

You will be able to spoil yourself with delicious foods, as major cruise lines only hire some of the best chefs around. There is plenty of dining and some cruises may even offer you room service straight to your cabin, so you can wake up with fresh coffee and eggs.

If you are a night owl then you can enjoy clubs aboard a cruise ship, where you can find dancing and cocktails, if you are old enough of course. Every cruise ship will have some sort of activity, parade or show for the night people.

Whatever it is you are looking for in a cruise, many cruise lines can offer most or even all of them. Call ahead and you will have a highly motivated sales agent that will make sure their cruise line offers everything that you need, and you will have the vacation of a life time.
