What’s better than fishing Cape Cod during September? In my opinion-not much at all. September fishing on the Cape is really a world class opportunity. For starters, striped bass show up in greater numbers. They are also usually much more aggressive. The air is cooler, giant tuna are around, and the summer crowds have dissipated.

There’s a lot of good news for folks fishing in September. The weather is often times very conducive to striped bass and giant tuna fishing. Although there will be windy days throughout the month, odds are that we will also have many calm days and evenings. Often times the waters around Cape Cod are as flat as a pond. Its days like this that make you forget that you are fishing on the ocean. And then there will be those breezy days and nights. However in September, a big wind is not always a bad thing. A brisk onshore breeze often lights up the fishing in spots that are surprisingly close to shore.

Striped bass behavior changes during September. This is the month when bass on Cape Cod begin to stage for their southerly migration. Many of the stripers that you could not entice a single bite from during July will now hop all over a tossed offering. The bass become noticeably more aggressive as October approaches. During September, there is a good chance that if you find the bass, you will be able to catch them. “Lockjaw” does not seem to be as much as a problem during this month.

Finding the fish in the first place also becomes easier as September inches its way towards October. Large schools of big stipers tend to hang a bit closer to the beach during this month. The days of trolling and cruising around in 60-70 feet of water are now (hopefully!) over. Searching in water as shallow as 20 feet often yields higher catches than spending time in deeper water at this time of the season.

Towards the end of the month, the bass will really put the feedbag on as they prepare for their southerly migration. I’m getting a little ahead of myself here, but I can not help but remember the great fishing we had during late September 2010. Of course, who knows what will happen in 2011. However the odds are in our favor that we will be able to at least put a few seriously large bass and giant tuna in the boat.

Just seeing a giant tuna crashing on the surface is a sight to remember. Hooking up and landing one is a completely different story!

Big blues and snapper blues invade Cape Cod during September. Pefect tuna bait size bluefish (20 inches or so) will often be around in full force. If 10 plus pound bluefish are your target, than look no further than Cape Cod Bay. Race Point, Sandy Neck and Billingsgate Shoal all produce big bluefish during September.

For smaller bluefish and snappers, concentrate on the south side of the Cape. The many bays and estuaries that litter the Cape’s southside, including Buzzards Bay, are home to these baby bluefish. Ultra light tackle is the way to go. Small lures or minnows fished on micro sized spinning reels is a blast. Kids usually love catching snappers. The action can be fast and furious at times. These small bluefish taste great and also make good live bait for tuna.

This is the time of the year when we hear stories of more exotic fish entering the water around Cape Cod. Even more exotic fish like Spanish Mackerel are caught off the southside of the Cape. These fish are usually taken by anglers fishing for bonito and false albies. Mahi-mahi are routinely taken by anglers fishing farther offshore. Actually, many exotic species inhabit the offshore areas such as yellowfin tuna, blue and white marlin, bigeye tuna and a variety of sharks-to name just a few.

Cape Cod has many fantastic fishing opportunities. All of these opportunities only get better as September turns into October. Now is the time to go fishing before the cold, windy days of November arrive!

Located in the Mexican state of Yucatan, Ro Lagartos is one of Mesoamerica’s most expansive bioreserves. Comprised of over 150,000 acres of lagoon, wetland, and tropical forest, the preserve represents an interwoven chain ecosystem that is as delicate as it is fascinating. The sheer size of the bioreserve makes it a prime target for ecological dangers of many kinds, not the least of which come from one of the natural world’s most dangerous enemies: mankind.

Storm Target

Unfortunately, Ro Lagartos lies almost bulls-eye in the center of the path taken by many storms during the Atlantic and Caribbean hurricane season. The reserve has suffered 13 direct hits by hurricanes in the last half-century, the most recent of which edged sufficiently inland to damage many communities in the vicinity of Ro Lagartos, San Felipe, and Las Coloradas. Sadly, there isn’t much that can be done to protect the natural environment from the effects of a hurricane, although better weather radar and hurricane prediction would surely save human lives, and prevent severe damage to the surrounding towns and villages.

Deforestation

One arena in which human intervention could play a pivotal role concerns the health of Ro Lagartos’s tropical forests. Because it is bordered by several large communities, the preserve’s jungles have come under attack from the logging and farming industries, and over 7,000 acres of these verdant, lush environments have been erased, stripped of their valuable wood and converted into farmland for supporting the surrounding human settlements. Even the stately and precious mangrove forests have not been spared from the greedy saws and axes of the lumber mills, which pay little attention to the long-term survival of the preserve’s delicately balanced ecosystem. This is a man-made problem, which could be rectified by placing reasonable constraints on the growth of towns and cities near to the preserve, as well as instituting urban planning to reduce the need for existing communities to sprawl out unimpeded beyond their present boundaries.

Overfishing

Another way that human consumption has negatively impacted Ro Lagartos has to do with activity in the water, where the abundance of beautiful :and delicious :sea life has long been taken for granted. Subsistence farmers and those in dire financial straits have relied more and more on the bounty of the lagoon and its surrounding sea for sustenance in recent years, and as the human population burgeons, this has sorely depleted the numbers of creatures that once swam in huge shoals throughout the preserve’s crystalline waters. Animals like the milk conch, clam, mullet, and octopus have all experienced severe decline in numbers as a result of overfishing and poaching, sometimes even via the use of explosives or dynamite. More rigid enforcement of fishing laws, as well as more officers to supervise the area, might have some effect, but a long-term solution can only include a check on human expansion and an increase in financial solubility for the people living in the region.

Poorly Planned Roads

Yet another method by which man is unwittingly destroying the Ro Lagartos preserve is through his lack of foresight in constructing new roads. This problem dovetails with the deforestation and overfishing issues, as it is a direct result of unchecked expansion and lack of planning. Roads within and near the preserve, especially those on the coast and in the southern regions, are built without proper drainage, instead making use of perpendicular wave-breaks which alters and disrupt the water’s natural pathways through the preserve. This changes the water level in different areas of the preserve, and tips the balance of the salt level within the soil. This in turn puts much of the vegetation, including the mangrove forests, in direct jeopardy. Therefore, when constructing new roads, more attention must be paid heir long-term effects on the ecosystem, and all construction should be planned with a mind towards preserving the natural flow and balance of waterways in the preserve, first and foremost.

The French and the tourists from the other neighbouring countries in Europe appreciate camping in France, the wonderful country which boasts of thousands of camping spots uniformly dispersed throughout the country. As a result you would find a camping ground wherever you tour in France. Travellers use the tent or prefer the caravan to stay.

In case you do not find any camping site within reach of your visit, you need not worry for several hostels in France allow you to lay tents in their back spaces. As these camping sites are found on the banks of rivers and lakes and even the ocean it gives an ample scope for you to revel in enjoying the scenic beauty around you.

However, camping grounds are rarely near any sites of touristy or historic importance which means it’s certainly an advantage if you have your own transport to get to and from the camping location in France.

In France during winter almost all the camping grounds are closed and some of them are kept open only during summer to accommodate travellers who throng to France during summer thereby filling these camping sites to capacity.

Annual vacation is celebrated by the French families in summer thanks to the long school holidays in that period in France.

That is why if you reach a camping site late in the day during summer you may not be accommodated there but you will be in some way accommodated there by the staff if you travelled on foot from a destination.

Costs for staying at camping grounds in France vary according to the facilities that are available on site. Camping grounds in France are given ratings, normally between 2 and 4 stars. The price for setting up a tent is the same as that for bringing a caravan to a camping ground in France.

However, caravans are charged in addition for using electricity. Many camping grounds in France have fixed price deals for up to three people, while children under the age of 12 are heavily discounted.

Unauthorized camping, called camping sauvage in French, is unlawful and could get you in trouble. However, many people still do it. Provided you only set up camp for one night, take down the tent in the day, don’t make much din and don’t light a camp fire, you’ll probably get away with unauthorized camping in France.

Train travel in France Is on the whole efficient and reasonably priced. There are several places in France you can get to by train if you are interested in Camping in France.

We all get bitten by insects from time to time – we are just too plentiful a source of food for insects to disregard. However, some people react fairly badly to an insect bite, while others do not seem be all that much bothered by them. The most common insect bites are from mosquitoes, ants, fleas and gnats or midges and now bed bugs are coming back as well..

If you are not overly allergic to these bites there is no need to do anything about the bite itself although you might want to eradicate an plague of ants, fleas and bed bugs. Mosquito and other insect bites normally produce an itchy, red swelling, which should go down within one to three days, although some individuals do have them for much longer.

We say that insects bite, but it is not always true. It is slapdash speech. Some insects bite (like ants), some insects sting (like bees) and other insects suck blood (like mosquitoes, fleas and bed bugs). Most individuals are more likely to show a reaction to blood sucking although the stings are the most painful.

Blood-sucking insects shoot some saliva into you through a pore before sucking blood. This saliva contains an anticoagulant to make the blood run more freely and it may contain an antiseptic and an analgesic as well to ease the pain of a possible infection or reaction to the bite. It is this saliva that causes the swelling and itching in most instances.

This is like an allergic reaction, but doctors do not deem it to be an allergy. Some individuals really are allergic to the bites of blood-sucking or stinging insects and they might need to be hospitalized. They experience far more than an itchy swelling for a day or two. You will soon know if you are allergic. You may even pass out or pass into a coma.

Anyway, the main concern for most of us after being ‘bitten’ is to alleviate the itching and reduce the swelling. It seems that some items work better on some individuals than on others, so it is a question of testing different things until you find one that suits you and the type of bite that is afflicting you.

Tiger Balm works on most insect bites for most people, but some individuals just have to rub a slice of lemon or an ice cube on the bite to make the bite more tolerable. If you are going to treat mosquito and other insect bites, you ought to do it as soon as you can after having been bitten. Strive to get that spittle out so that it does not have time to trigger your bodies natural defences.

Some lotions seem to neutralize the saliva whilst others seem to pucker the skin enough to squirt it back out. If the saliva is back outside it cannot induce an infection although most infections like this are the result of scratching with unclean finger nails

Owen Jones, the writer of this piece writes on several topics, but is currently involved with finding a home remededy for mosquito bites.

Tucked away in the tail end of the Rockies, this Canadian town is full of charm. Once known for its mining history, settlers determined that they wanted to make their town available to tourists. To capture the hearts and minds of visitors, the community created a quaint town that was open and friendly. Because of the popularity during the main seasons, tourists should choose hotels and accommodations in Kimberley BC that will fit their interests.

As the community determined how to attract tourists, they decided to model the historic downtown after the look of Bavarian villages. The cobblestone paths and classic shops attract visitors that wish to lodge in the historic area. Thus, visitors have several lodgings that are available to them in the historic district.

Downtown is host to two major guest locations. Each hotel has its own personality and style, yet they capture the Bavarian identity of the city. Guests staying in either of these locations have immediate access to shopping, dining, and entertainment. Downtown is where many of the activities are held, thus visitors find there is no lack of things to do.

While the historic area is quite popular, some guests may prefer the ability to be close to the two most popular sports in this area. Golfing and skiing are classic tourist attractions to this town. One very convenient options allows visitors to have either the slopes or greens directly outside their rooms. Sports enthusiasts enjoy being able to access the slopes or greens within minutes.

While there is plenty to see and do either in ‘old town’ or the great outdoors, there are also plenty of housing options available for rent. Many town homes and condominiums are available year round for longer stays. Visitors can contact local real estate professionals before planning their trip in order to get full details. This option is great for larger families on holiday or for visitors staying a week or longer. Most of the rentals are fully stocked with household items, making the stay quite homey.

Some visitors may prefer a slightly more private accommodation. Kimberley is home to a good number of bed and breakfast establishments. These homes usually hold fewer guests and are geared for a more private stay. The morning meal is also a part of the lodging price. The meal can consist of full breakfast items such as eggs and waffles, or they may offer a simpler fare such as fruits and cheeses. Visitors should inquire about menus when scheduling the visit.

For some tourists, the only way to stay in a town such as this is by communing with nature. There are a good number of camping sites within the town and surrounding areas. Due to their popularity, however, reservations should be made well in advance of the vacation. These sites are located in some of the most beautiful parts of the Rockies. Camping enthusiasts should thoroughly enjoy the lodgings.

Hotels Kimberley and accommodations in Kimberley BC are vast and varied. Whether coming in through the States or visiting from elsewhere, visitors are treated like members of an extended family. This lovely Bavarian styled town will capture the hearts of all who enter it.

When in British Columbia consider staying at one of the finest Kimberley hotels. You can enjoy the benefits of golf and four season activities.

In order to chill out naturally there are lots of dining establishments and they generally include the evening entertainment, its really interesting seeing people dance their own traditional movements.

There are a tremendous quantity of retailers, hotels and even spa treatments so if you’re one of the people that want to treat themselves then you have a wide range of choices.

Plenty of people enjoy the sunshine which means as soon as they arrive in Egypt they can’t wait to use swimming pools. A number of hotels in Cairo now have salt water in their pools as opposed to chlorine and quite a few holidaymakers believe that’s a fantastic idea.

Egypt is a Muslim country and starting at six o’clock each and every morning people pray for the first of five times every day. There is a Mohamed Ali Mosque that is the emblem of Cairo. It’s known as that due to the fact there was a person known as Mohamed Ali (1769 – 1849) who had been born in Cavalia, Greece and was of Albanian origins. He had been a soldier in the army that were sent to Egypt to liberate the country from Napoleon’s occupation. So in the end he assisted to free the nation and now people pray for him.

Everyone enjoys a holiday and it’s especially nice if you can be pampered on a cruising holiday including Nile cruise holidays. There’s just something about being treated right and not having to travel on your own to see an area.

Cruising on a ship is a great way to meet new people and see new things without paying for plane tickets, renting a car, or even hotel reservations. When you get on board, dining, traveling, and even packing or unpacking is not something to worry about. All you have to do is find your sleeping quarters, leave you suitcase there, and then you can do anything you want that is available on board.

There are many cruise boats all around the world, and many of them offer you savings by either booking in advance or taking a last minute package. Others offer a discount just by booking on line. Some of the last minute bookings will offer you a room upgrade for just a few more dollars.

You can also do all of your research online. Not only will you be able to book your boat, but you’ll also see pictures and videos of what’s available on the boat and off. This makes it extremely easy to find a holiday you and your family will enjoy.

Whether you decide to take the exotic Nile cruise holidays, or a more local boat vacation, you are sure to relax as you are being pampered. Having your bed made, room cleaned, and being served warm luxurious plates of food daily can be very relaxing and will help you enjoy your vacation.

Make sure before you book that you check out the terms and conditions on the boat vacation you’re considering, especially if it’s out of country. Many of them will have passport and ID requirements, and with some, there may be health requirements as well. The last thing you need is to arrive at the boarding area without the proper information.

The most relaxing way to indulge in the ancient wonders of Upper Egypt is one on the many Nile Cruise Holidays that run from on a regular basis from Luxor..

Boating safety is key to making each trip a positive one and preventing injuries. No drugs should be used, and safety gear must always be present and accessible. Constant monitoring of the weather is also necessary, as is informing someone of the destination of a trip. Do not overload boats and always respect to any rules or regulations that apply.

No drugs or alcohol can be used before or during a boat ride. The results of alcohol are made stronger with wind, vibration, noise, glare, and sun exposure while on board. Further, in 2008 thirty-five percent of all boating deaths were found to be linked to drugs or alcohol. Of all reported accidents, twenty percent had the same cause as well.

The correct safety equipment needs to be on board always and routinely maintained. Every individual should wear a life jacket that correctly fits. Fire extinguishers are crucial for safety, particularly in boats that have closing compartments or any false doors. Always check that it is charged and within easy access.

Boat lights should be regularly checked and extra batteries kept at hand just in case. Emergency supply kits are also key and should have flares, floating pouches, maps, and a first aid kit. Look over the anchor and double check that someone knows how it is properly used. If done incorrectly, the anchoring process can lead to fatalities.

Unfriendly weather is another possible problem. Because of this, monitoring the weather constantly is key. Always have radio access so that individuals will be warned of any future problems. Signs of danger include rough water, flashes of lightening, and shifts in the winds. When it is known that bad weather is approaching, leave the water as soon as is possible. Doing this minimizes time waiting in line for any other water craft. If staying on the water there is also the risk of cold water exposure causing hypothermia.

In case of unforeseen circumstances, always notify someone of the destination of a trip and the planned time of return. After refueling and before departing open all hatches. Smell for the presence of fumes before the engine is started. If there are fumes present the engine must not be turned on.

Check destination areas for any rules that are in place. There could be different requirements from the area of origins. Always make sure that registration is current and that the boat is displaying a sticker from the right year.

Boats must not be overloaded. It has a weight capacity listed that should not be exceeded. While launching, do so safely. Remove every strap and cover before in line for launching and have equipment in the boat before the ramp. All equipment needs to be double checked for correct functioning and be plugged in properly. It is recommended to have someone holding the line and assisting in handling the boat from the pier when in line to launch.

Boating safety is crucial for everyone on board. This includes not doing drugs before a launch, having necessary equipment on board, and paying attention to the weather. All rules and regulations must be followed at all times and boats must never be overloaded past capacity.

In some places, when operating a motorized marine vehicle, a pleasure craft operator card is required. It does not matter how large or small the boat is. If it is used for recreational purposes, the operator of the vehicle must have this card. Requirements for it are a good thing for everyone out on the water. It will ensure that the operator is educated in safety and knowledgeable of what to do in any event while sailing.

This card ensures the level of competency of the operators sailing abilities and awareness. It proves that they are well educated in situations that can happen while at sea. It also shows the ability to act accordingly to these situations. It means the owner is fluent in nautical terms and definitions. The terms are very important to know while boating.

There are many very important rules and regulations that must be known while boating. Collision procedures, allowed speed, certain operations, and restrictions are among these. You have to know the correct speed limits in all areas. Certain restrictions of operations must also be recognized and followed. In the event of a collision, you must know what to do as well.

Steering and sailing rules must be followed. You need to know when to proceed with caution and when to stay out of the way of other vessels. When light and visibility are low, specific colored lights must be turned on to avoid collision. These specific lights are designed to pierce through the low visibility, and they will alert others in the water of your location.

The card shows that the owner of it is able to perform appropriate safety measures. Before taking your voyage on the sea, make sure someone on land knows where you are going. Inform a friend, or family member, on your plans for your trip. Make sure they know when you should be returning and the routes you will be taking. This may save your life in the event that you are stranded at sea and your equipment fails.

You must be educated in the effective use, and knowledge, of safety equipment. There is a proper way to wear and use items to assist you with floating. Use of fire extinguishers, and the correct way to operate signal flares, can save your life and the lives of others. Emergency actions to follow when there is a man overboard, boat is sinking, and being dead in the water due to a mechanical failure must also be known.

You must know how to navigate by buoy locations. Depending on where they are, and on which side of your boat, you should be able to navigate effectively. Knowledge of reading weather reports, and how to sail in that weather, is very important. Owners of the card must know the warning signs, and the lingo used, when referring to weather. It is very important to your own safety and the safety of your passengers. Rough weather is dangerous and you must know how to deal with, and recognize it.

A pleasure craft operator card ensures safety for everyone that enjoys being out on the water. You will be comfortable knowing that the other boaters around you are just as educated in the same things you are. Knowing what do in case of an emergency, and being prepared for it, will save lives while out at sea.

When you look to travel to Britain, you might want to go around a certain time. There are many things that they like to celebrate. When you know what those British holidays are, you can plan accordingly and be a part of the celebration. Here are a few of them to know about.

Many people around the globe celebrate Easter. Since Britain is mostly Christian, you will find that many people celebrate this. They have music. There are special church services and they begin bright and early as everyone knows what happened on that day. They even have fun with Easter eggs. That is one thing you can be a part of.

Something else that British women like to celebrate happens in May. This is called May Day. Here, you can take part in the Morris dancing. Other things that you do are that you might find that you are asked to walk around the May Pole as tradition goes. Something else that happens is that they pick a May Queen. It is rather fun and traditional; very elegant as well.

The Britain’s pay tribute to the Royal family. Many honor the work that they have done. They are faithful followers. In June, there is a holiday that is known as Coronation Day. This is not held with a huge party like some might think, but it is very historical. Therefore you will find that there is a gun salute, the highest gun salute at that to honor the first crowning of the Queen.

There was a battle that took place in 1690 in the month of July. This is known as Orange Man Day. Men will wear orange sashes. It is recognized as a federal holiday in Britain where the banks are closed. There is a huge march where drums and pipes are played as well. That is what happens in July.

By October, you have had quite a few festivals that are part of tradition, but then you have a celebration in October. This is known as Apple Day. This is one of the events that just came to be in 2010 and was not started by the Royal family, but by the commoners. They wanted to open a day that all can be a part of.

The last big time celebration that is considered a holiday is New Years Eve. This is when it is once again time to ring in a new year. People throw parties. They hold hands and sing when midnight comes. That is what many people like and fireworks are a must.

Holidays are special in Britain and they have many festivals as well as holidays. That is the nice thing. The other thing that you will find is that music is a big party of the celebrations. The other thing that you have to look at is that there are many things that you can be a part of when you come here.

The writer is a vacation professional and recommends incredible fun caravan holidays cornwall and a superb cornwall holiday park from St Ives Bay today
