by Jim Samposzi

Camping is the best way to relax and be one with the beauty of nature. Getting back to the elements in this way can relax you, and help to eliminate all of your frustrations and stresses. Many people make a plan to go camping a couple times each year to rid themselves of the stress and anxiety of everyday life.

The most essential piece of equipment for camping is the tent. A tent is the standard for protection to block out unwanted elements while you are sleeping in nature. The type of tent you should buy depends on the area you will be camping. Tents are made especially for different areas, and sometimes, activities. A camping tent is the most useful shelter for people who go hiking, biking, and fishing. Tents can be small enough to haul into camp or so large that they have to have more than one person to carry through the woods.

There are so many brands and types of tents that someone looking for one might incur confusion. Usually, the capacity of a tent is figured by the amount of family members that can fit comfortably inside. The different types of tents available for purchase are:

* Ridge Tents – This was the original tent when they were invented. Like the name, there are two ridges on either side that slope down far and are flush with the ground. These are probably the most simplest and reduced in size. They usually handle 1-3 people and are very easy to put up. These tents are erected with two poles on both sides and a rope between them to keep it upright.

* Frame Tent – This kind is the hugest of tents used for larger groups of people and families. These tents are put up with several crisscross poles that pop up the tent and hold the form. The tent fabric is then fastened to the crisscrossed poles to complete the shelter. Then, pins and ropes are tied for security.

* Dome Tents – These are the most popular of tents nowadays. As in the name, this kind has a dome on the top that prevent buildup on the roof of the tent; the dome provide the slope for things to easily come off of of the structure so the top is not broken. These tents are low to the ground so you typically cannot walk around inside. Although, these types of tents are very easy to carry and quick and easy to erect.

Before heading out the door to go camping, you should make sure you are prepared. Not bringing the right equipment can result in a horrible time. Furthermore, not having adequate can be hazardous depending on where you decide to go. In addition, you have to figure out if the tent you have is big enough to fit everyone. All tents show how many people can fit in them and it is important that you take this into consideration. Camping is supposed to be fun – make sure you prepare yourself fully.

Who does not want to see the world? The Eiffel Tower, the pyramids of Egypt, the Swiss Alps, the Australian Outback, and the African Safari are some of the places where visitors flock every year. Whether you go for fun filled activities that you can do all day and all night long or you just want to rejuvenate your spirits after a long day these places are sure to embrace you in its arms.

World class tourist destinations have facilities for you to enjoy – a king sized bedroom filled with flowers, a swimming pool beside the bar with a jacuzzi, a banquet area, and a fitness gym. The availability of a good and comfortable accommodation is the first thing that a tourist would look into before going to a place. Normally, to lessen costs frequent travelers would buy vacation homes at the heart of popular tourist destinations.

This practice has a lot of advantages, for one accommodation is readily available whenever one needs it. Unfortunately, maintenance costs for a vacation house is expensive. Keeping an eye of the property goes with the price of owning one. If you have this problem, why not buy a timeshare?

Simply put, timesharing is sharing your home to another person or family for them to use while you are away. People buy a timeshare for them to enjoy the all benefits of a hassle free vacation. Booking for an accommodation and staying for a long time would never be a problem for there would be no hotel bills to pay.

If you interested to buy a timeshare, there are a lot of websites that contain a wealth of information about timesharing with its payment terms and contracts. Reward yourself and your family with a vacation villa in the Caribbean, try timesharing.

by Kenneth Elliott

Have you ever wanted to experience South America the way that the native people experience it? Native inhabitance stay off the betten path and go places that most touriest just don’t get to take advantage of. Well, you to could experience South American this way through car travel.

You want to travel to South America but you are worried about means of transportation when you get there. What do you do? Well, you have several options: you can choose to figure it out when you get there and travel by bus, train, shuttle, etc., or you can rent a car. Most are nervous about traveling to a new country to begin with, and then they are faced with the problem of getting around when they arrive. Some consider it foolhardy to head to South America with no transportation plan, and to just improvise upon arrival. Others see no problem with it. Those who think that it is a risk they are not willing to take will want to know how to secure a rental car before arriving. They will also worry about the driving rules and regulations of South America, but this worry can be averted with a small amount of research. It is important to think ahead and set things up early so you do not run into problems when you arrive. Many underestimate the complexity of the process, and do not know what to do when they arrive. Most important, other than car rental, is awareness. Driving in South America is not considered a particularly safe or easy task so being aware of the situation is a very big deal.

Renting a car is simple enough, as long as you choose to do it at the right time. All you need to do is find a website which provides rental cars to travelers. Log on to the site and let them know when you need the car for and where you would like to pick it up. Of course, you will have to provide your information so they can hold it for you. If you choose to search for a rental after arriving, it may be difficult to locate a place when you are not in an area you are familiar with.

Finally, make sure you are always switched on when travelling by car in South America. Many roads have been partly-destroyed or damaged, or are covered in hazardous obstacles which are usually natural but occasionally are man-made. Some parts of South America have man-made obstacles to slow drivers down but they are usually not marked which leaves them hard to see, especially at night. Driving at night is never recommended because you never know what to expect on the roads in an area you are not familiar with. Day driving should be limited not only because of the hazards that will be found all over the country but also because urban traffic can be heavy and chaotic. Bearing in mind the points made above, having a car can still be more beneficial than relying on public transportation. As long as the rides are short then you will enjoy having the freedom to travel where you want when you want to.

Be sure to make it easy on yourself and book your rental ahead of time. Always be aware and careful when driving a rental car. Make sure to plan your route ahead of time and head straight to your destination. Driving around South America aimlessly is only going to lead to accidents!

If you happen to ask any of your friends about their choice of dream vacations, there is an even Steven chance that they might answer, “sipping a sangria, hot Jamaican sand beneath my feet” They are not alone in this wishful thinking. A large majority of us workaholics dream of a time when we can live the life of a beach dweller, living in a beach house looking out upon the ocean of our dreams.

However, until you manage to fulfill your ambitions and dreams of retiring to the south of France at the age of 50, you will have to make do with beach decor which brings back the nostalgic memory of your days in the sun, making sand castles and jumping on them, splashing everybody around you with water, and endearing yourself in many other such noisy ways to all the other holidaymakers.

That can be done by finding places where you can buy beach themed items to decorate your home with, which take you back to the sun and the sand, the beach and the seagulls, the midges and the sand flies.

You are also definitely not going to be disappointed if you are a confirmed addict to every form of sailing or boating. It does not matter if you happen to be a weekend sailor or are fortunate enough to live your life upon the sea. The different nautical or beach home decor products pertaining to the sea, ships, boats, beaches, marine life, and every other aspect of a tropical vacation can be found easily on the internet if you are looking for them.

Many of these themed products are hand crafted and also are exactly what you wanted, or to give as gifts – to other people who love the sun, sand, sailing, and slumbering by the side of the sea, as much as you do.

So what are you waiting for? Come back to memories of sun in your hair, the wind on your face, the sand beneath your feet, and possibly any other beautiful memories of a holiday in the sun, by choosing some beach or nautical dcor to place around your home – items like candles, accent pillows, rugs and bedding may do the trick.

Placing brightly colored painted outdoor wooden furniture on the patio or deck so you can relax while sipping a cocktail outside would be another idea. Throw in some themed party favors and invite the neighbors over and you could have your own beach party right in your own backyard!

We all love to take time to get away from the stresses of life to enjoy a vacation. Many people think that if they have a baby or very young children, they can no longer take a vacation. Traveling with babies can be made much easier by planning and implementing measures that will make your vacation fun and relaxing.

A Last Escape Before Baby Makes Three

Vacationing when pregnant, or the babymoon, is a great way to enjoy the remaining time of life as a couple. Many couples decide to book a getaway to celebrate, relax and enjoy their last diaper-free break for a while. The best time to travel while pregnant is during the second trimester, weeks 14 to 27. By then, morning sickness should have abated, energy levels should be higher and you should be feeling “blooming”. After that, while Canadian airlines will accept you for travel right up to the final weeks of your pregnancy, there’s a good chance that you’ll be keener to rest more than travel. Plus, there’s a greater chance of premature labor in the final weeks.

When to Go: You’ll want heat, but not too much heat, lots of comfort, good food and relaxation. Stick to familiar vacation spots – you’ll need to feel confident that the food and environs will suit you. This is no time for surprises. Florida and the Caribbean are favoured destinations for a babymoon, but there are plenty of beautiful spots in our own backyard – Vancouver Island, Toronto and Ontario’s West Coast, Quebec City, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia…

What to Wear: Your loosest clothes and lots of layers. Make sure there’s plenty of space in your clothing in case junior undergoes a growth spurt. If you’re visiting a sun spot take a heavy-duty sunscreen – mom-to-be skin can be extra sensitive. Pack too your favorite snacks and over-the-counter medicine. Don’t forget your medical notes – just in case.

Traveling With Babies

Traveling with a baby can help him or her experience new environments and encourages family bonding. The following tips will help you have a better travel experience with your baby.

Location: Make sure you choose an appropriate destination for a baby. Research destinations by using the internet and traveler reviews. Family-orientated travel guides are useful. Babies will not enjoy too much heat or cold.

Enlist Baby Travel Services: There are online baby supply companies who will deliver changing, feeding, and bathing supplies your baby will need while away from home, to any worldwide travel destination. You can shop for all the supplies your baby will need for traveling without leaving your home.

Travel Assistance Insurance: Obtaining travel insurance will ensure that your baby will receive proper medical care in case of an illness or injury. Coverage should include the ability for flights home if treatment is required in the US.

Family Friendly Vacation: There are baby and toddler friendly resorts and hotels that cater to families. Make sure that where you stay has appropriate baby supplies such as a crib and highchair.

Allow Baby to Adjust to New Environment: Maintain a routine with familiar food, toys, and blanket. The baby should not receive too much stimulation within the first couple of days. They should rest and get use to the new environment.

Vacationing with babies can be a fun experience for parents. It is important to remember that it is a vacation, so adults should take time each day to relax. With a little planning and preparation, you and your baby will have a great vacation.

If you are looking to take a vacation and want to get away, then you may want to look into taking a cruise aboard of a major cruise ship. Some of the big cruise lines that are out there are Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Disney, Princess along with many others.

I am not going to be promoting specific cruise lines in this article; I will just be going over some of the things that you can expect when you are on board a cruise ship that holds 1,000 people or more.

If you like to travel then a cruise ship is the way to go. There are cruises that will stop at just about any big port that there is, so if you want to travel to a certain country there is more than likely a cruise ship that will go there.

If you like to tan or like to swim, you can enjoy sparkling swimming pools that are usually located on the sun deck. For those that want to relieve muscle tension there are massages available, along with hot tubs and saunas on most cruises.

There are plenty of opportunities to stay in shape when on a cruise also, of you do not know where to start then many of them offer personal trainers. If you need a rest from the kids then you are in luck as many cruises have day care centers for all ages.

If you are feeling lucky then you can drop by the casino and maybe make enough money to pay for your entire vacation, or lose it all. Although most cruises have casinos that are open 24 hours, there are some that do not, such as the Disney Cruise Lines so make sure you find out in advance if you are looking to gamble.

You will be able to spoil yourself with delicious foods, as major cruise lines only hire some of the best chefs around. There is plenty of dining and some cruises may even offer you room service straight to your cabin, so you can wake up with fresh coffee and eggs.

If you are a night owl then you can enjoy clubs aboard a cruise ship, where you can find dancing and cocktails, if you are old enough of course. Every cruise ship will have some sort of activity, parade or show for the night people.

Whatever it is you are looking for in a cruise, many cruise lines can offer most or even all of them. Call ahead and you will have a highly motivated sales agent that will make sure their cruise line offers everything that you need, and you will have the vacation of a life time.

Are you getting fed up with commercial flights? Having to get there early and watch your kids run around and bug people and going through extensive security is not a vacation to me. If that sounds terrible to you too, check out a private jet for your next family vacation or even business trip.

If you are going on a family vacation, chartering a private jet is a great way to have to avoid having to keep track of your kids before the flight. Dont you hate that you have to get to the airport two hours before your flight? Often it only takes 20 minutes to get into the gates and check your bags so you are waiting for an hour and 40 minutes a lot of the time and you have nothing to do and your kids get restless and run around and other people get annoyed by you and you get the look from parents like you dont know how to control your kids.

By chartering a private jet, you can avoid all of this. You can walk right on and skip the lines, security and keeping your kid on a leash.

By chartering a private plane you can avoid lines, layovers and extensive security which saves a lot of time and money. And lets face it, when it comes to business right now, time is money and no one has enough of either.

So definitely look into chartering a private jet for your next family trip or business meeting. Saving time and money is key right now in this economy and this can help to do both for you. If you need to find out how, check it out online or through a travel agent (it is much easier than you may think). And don’t worry about the safety factor, private planes are as safe as commercial flights!

People flock to the Golden State to escape, to breathe, to redefine their lives. Reinvention is the reoccurring Californian theme. There is perhaps no better representation of reinvention than the cities in and around the Monterey Bay. The city that give the Bay is name has bounced back from a recession during the last part of the 20th century to become an academic center for Central California. Since the collapse of is fisheries, the city is now host of academic centers and research facilities. The chief facilities are the Monterey Aquarium and the Marine Mammal Center.

Droves of students relocate to Monterey with the hopes of reinventing their lives while the city swells with tourists and residents alike. The jewel of Central California, Monterey now counts approximately 30,000 residents as more and more students seek out prestigious postgraduate institutions. Among these institutions are the Naval School, CSU Monterey Bay, and the Oceanography Center.

Scholars and researchers enjoy relatively quick and easy access to the deep ocean. In fact, the Monterey Canyon, the largest and deepest underwater canyon in the Pacific Ocean is located only a few miles out to sea. The largest aquarium in North America, the Monterey Bay Aquarium is home to a host of researchers, marine biologists, and oceanographers.

Monterey is perhaps best known in popular culture for its contribution to cheese. To be sure, schools are one thing — cheese is another. The now-famous Monterey Jack cheese was first cultivated the local Franciscan friars in the 1880s. A local businessman, David Jack, marketed the cheese as Jack’s Cheese. The eventually became Monterey Jack cheese and lo and behold: reinvention.

Once the capital of Spanish and Mexican California, the city now thrives not only on the aquarium and educational facilities, but also its rich historical legacy. The city boasts being the progenitors of many of California’s firsts: the first theater, first school, and first city. Visitors are encouraged to find a Monterey Bay hotel that fits their needs and encourages a long, reinventing stay.

Pasadena is one of the most well known cities in Southern California, whether for the annual Rose Bowl Parade and Rose Bowl, as the home of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, it’s many cultural attractions or even the Beach Boys hit of the 1960’s. There is a lot of history and a wealth of things to see and do in this city, located just outside of Los Angeles. Even if you’ve never visited the city, you probably know at least a little about Pasadena.

As with many other cities in California, the original inhabitants of the area were Native Americans. Benjamin Wilson, an early settler came to the area and resided on the Lake Vineyard property; it was in 1873, when a doctor visited Wilson from Indiana that the city really took off. The doctor was looking for a place to send patients with respiratory problems and they came in droves. Before long, a veritable Indiana colony had been established and the residents gave the name Pasadena to their new town, from the Indian phrase “of the valley”.

Within a decade, the town’s fame spread among Easterners. In fact, in the years leading up to the Great Depression, Pasadena became a winter resort for wealthy Easterners. With the influx of settlers from the East came new cultural attractions. Artists, actors, and scientists were among those who helped bring fame to Pasadena. The Pasadena Playhouse, which presents seven shows a season, got its start here in 1917. The Norton Simon Museum, containing art that spans more than 2,000 years from all over the world, was founded in 1922. Pasadena’s Art Center of College and Design, a leader in art and design education that trains students to make an impact on the world through their talents, was established in 1930. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) got its start in 1936, with a group of men who refused to believe that rockets only belonged in science fiction. JPL is now a highly respected center for NASA in robotics and spacecraft design and manufacturing.

During the 1920s, the Spanish Colonial Revival style of architecture gained popularity. Visitors today can see remnants of that era by looking at the facades on buildings facing Colorado Boulevard. Perhaps the city’s #1 claim to fame is the annual Tournament of Roses, a New Year’s Day tradition that has been traveling the same route through town for decades. The event started in 1890, courtesy of Pasadena’s Valley Hunt Club. As former residents of the East Coast and the Midwest, Californians wanted to let their friends back East know about the state’s beauty and mild winter weather. As one professor said, “Let’s hold a festival to tell the world about our paradise.”

The Rose Bowl has been another Pasadena New Year’s tradition. This game is sometimes known as “The Granddaddy of Them All” and has sold out consistently every year since 1947. While the game is televised, there is nothing to compare to being at the game in person. If you’re planning to go, have a look at Pasadena hotels and lodges online.

If you are looking for budget hotels in LA you should look at hotels in the Downtown region, Hollywood and Santa Monica.

by Chris Linch

If you are looking for budget hotels in LA you should look at hotels in the Downtown region, Hollywood and Santa Monica.

Downtown LA

Unlike the downtown regions of other cities, Downtown LA isn’t the most happening place in the city. A lot of money had been put into this area and a number of cultural centers have been constructed. But tourists often skip this area and head to the Westside, Hollywood and the beaches. The area is characterized by earthquake proof high-rises and skyscrapers and is the business center of the city. It also has within its boundaries ethic communities like Koreatown, Little Tokyo, Chinatown and Los Feliz. Accommodation in Downtown LA is cheap but keep in mind that if you want to go to the beach or visit the studios you will have to travel a bit.

Hollywood

Hollywood is more an illusion than the actual industry itself with more and more movie studios leaving the neighborhood for Burbank, Westside, etc. The dereliction of the neighborhood however does not stop tourists from coming here. Today, a massive $1 billion regeneration project is underway and Hollywood is again gaining the popularity of its old days of glory. There are many sites to be visited here, the Walk of Fame, the Kodak Theatre, for instance. There are many new luxury hotels here but you will also find several budget hotels in the area.

Santa Monica

If all you want to on your vacation is sun, surf and sand then you should find a hotel in Santa Monica. It is L. A’s premier beach community. This is also a great place to shop. Although there are many luxury hotels here, you will be able to find some discount hotels in the area.
