Timeshare companies sell ownership of vacation properties on a share basis for a specific period of each and every year of ownership. The customer has to pay an amount to own their share of any properties. In addition to that, they will have to pay a maintenance fee for their period of use. Purchasing a timeshare vacation is often profitable to the customer if he intends to keep it, as they will pay at the current market price for a large part of any future vacations.
