Given below is the process:

Items and appliances required:

1. Stainless steel pan. 2. A dairy thermometer. 3. A large pan larger than your stainless steel pan to act as a double boiler. 4. A long spoon. 5. Measuring cups and spoons. 6. A long handled knife. 7. A colander. 8. Cheese cloth. 9. A mixing bowl. 10. Four table spoon of unflavored yogurt.

Steps that one must follow while preparing cottage cheese at home:

First of all pour a gallon of milk into a stainless steel saucepan. Using the double boiler technique heat the milk to 80 degree Fahrenheit. Now add four tablespoons of unflavored yogurt to the milk and blend methodically. Now allow the assortment to sit at 80 degree Fahrenheit until the milk is clabbered. This whole procedure will take about twelve hours to complete. Allow the air to gush through it and hence use thin casing. When the milk is fully clabbered then you will see curd and thin cheese stuff at the base of the pan. The top of the bowl will be packed with some watery material.

The next step is to cut the curd into small inch cubes using a long handled knife. Take proper precautions. Let the cubes settle down for about 15 to 20 minutes. And after this stir them quite gently.

Using the double boiler method heat the curd at 115 degree Fahrenheit. Do not surpass the hotness to get the good quality cheese. Now your curd will be compact to touch.

Now stripe your strainer with the cheese cloth. Pour the curd into it and then allow the curd to sap. Now lift the strainer out of the cheese cloth. Then wash the curd that remains that is left out with some cold water.

Now take out the stressed curd and then mix up some salt to it. You can also add fresh cream to make it softer and tasty. In this way you can prepare some delicious cottage cheese easily at your home. It is great fun!
