Least Crowded Days at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida

Planning a trip to Universal Studios theme park in Orlando? While the park is home to some world class attractions, it also features mile-long lines for rides and shows. To maximize your fun and minimize your wait times, it’s important to visit the park during some of the less crowded days and seasons. This can make all the difference in your trip.

The single biggest factor that will influence your trip is the time of year you choose to visit. Those visiting during the week after Christmas will find themselves waiting in long lines. This is the single busiest week for the Orlando theme parks, with the summer season not far behind in terms of crowds.

There are certain times of the year that are not as busy as others when visiting Universal Studios. The traffic seems to be lighter in the park from mid-January through mid-February, also from September (after Labor Day) until Thanksgiving weekend, and from Thanksgiving until just before Christmas. Visiting the park during these times will give you a better advantage of avoiding the crowds.

Another way to avoid long lines at Universal Studios is to visit on Saturday or Sunday. Why the weekend? Most families visiting the Orlando area arrive on Saturday and head for Walt Disney World. While they’re busy at Epcot or Magic Kingdom, you can enjoy the short lines and light traffic at Universal and Islands of Adventure on the weekend.

Avoiding crowds while in the park *Theme park guests have a strange tendency to travel counter-clockwise through the park. If you move left and travel clockwise, you’ll be going in the opposite direction from all the crowds.

*When you get to the park, head straight for the big rides, like Hulk and Spiderman, and these will become very crowded by mid-day.

* Take advantage of the Fast Pass which will allow you to avoid many of the crowds. You can find out about the pass on the website or ask about it at the ticket booth.

* Start your day early in the morning, arriving at least a half hour before the park opens. The majority of people sleep in and start filling up the park in the afternoon.

* Try to stay onsite at the parks. Onsite hotels offer free shuttles that can get you to the park fast.

Avoiding crowds at Universal Studios in Orlando simply involves doing your homework and planning your trip. There are many ways to avoid the crowds if you just take a little time and prepare. You are certain to have a great time if you plan ahead so that you do not have to worry about it later. Good luck and have fun!
